I took this photo in Cusco, in the Andes highlands of Peru, where I lived for several years. This was a traditional depacho ceremony, which on this occasion was being done to bless a new restaurant in Cusco. Depachos are ceremonial offerings made to Pachamama (Mother Earth) as a way to step into Ayni (Divine Reciprocity) and promote abundance, harmony, and Correct Relationship with all things.
